Halachic Times

Explore zmanim for a selected Hebrew day and observer location, using configurable sunrise, sunset and proportional-hour definitions.

The Halachic Times explorer connects a selected Hebrew day with solar events and a table of calculated zmanim. Inspect the Sun at a selected event, compare local times, and review the location, atmospheric and horizon settings behind the calculation.

A calculated solar position is an astronomical result; the choice of which position, offset or day interval defines a halachic time is an interpretation. Settings expose these choices instead of treating one convention as universal. These educational results are unverified for practical halachic use.

Jewish Cosmology is an interactive research and educational web application connecting Hebrew dates, traditional Jewish calendar calculations and halachic concepts of time with the observable motions of the Sun, Moon and planets, astronomical seasons and eclipses.

JavaScript is required for the interactive explorers and calculations. The descriptions and navigation remain available without JavaScript.
